Operation Backpack is not new to PFC. We’ve held collections several times in the past, including having Operation Backpack as our service project for Vacation Bible School. It’s time for another collection…during the entire month of February!
Operation Backpack is a local ministry that works with the Pottstown School District to help feed low income or homeless children on the weekends. For some children, the only meals they get are those served in the school cafeteria. Operation Backpack provides backpacks with easy-to-prepare food items that kids take home on the weekends. The food donated must be items that elementary-age children can prepare independently. For a list of suggestions, see the table in the church lobby, or click here. Volunteers are needed to help with inventorying the food items. Please contact Terri Lewis or Becky Elliott with any questions and to volunteer.
