Spiritual Direction from a Pastoral & Vision Perspective
Key questions for 2018:

Who is God?
What is He like? What does He like?
What doesn’t He like?
How does He work? When does He work?
How does He speak and reveal Himself?

In light of His revelation:

Who am I & who are we?
How do we hear God’s voice and discern Gods will?
What are we to be like?
What are we to enjoy?
What are we to pursue?
What are we to do?

If you ask the wrong questions your guaranteed to get the wrong answers…

Key Questions for PFC for 2018:

Who is Christ? & Who am I in Christ? & Who are we in Christ?

A Year of Stories

This year I’ll be working on creative ways for us to engage God’s story, our own stories with God, and other people’s stories with God.

Wednesday evening Lent Series: Filled to the Measure with the Fulness of Christ

Wednesday evenings 6:30-7:30 pm
February 14 – March 21

Each service will have three main components:

  1. Corporate Worship
  2.  Brief reflection/teaching from Scripture
  3.  Community Conversations around weekly theme

Easter Series: Never Forsaken

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6 [Hebrews 13:5]
“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?’  that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” – Matthew 27:46

Stories of God walking with His people through the valley of death…

The Lord’s Table

Engaging the story of Christ together in remembrance, confession, releasing of offense, and worship…

:: Every 3rd Sunday (allowing volunteers to participate)
:: Elements served by elders and deacons
:: Love Feasts will continue to be celebrated in the spring and fall

Shared Ministry Team Update

With the implementation of the new deacon structure many of the responsibilities of the Shared Ministry team become redundant… So, the deacons have assumed responsibility over deaconing items that previously fell under the Shared Ministry Team.
In its place we are implementing a Preaching Team [DJ Martin, Mike Gensler, Dave Willauer, Mike Morby, Josh Hostetter]
Both Josh Kumpf and Mike Morby have discerned that they are currently not being led to pursue ministry licensing.

PFC Children’s Ministry Update

Updates were addressed by Brandi Russell: Children’s Ministry is in need of volunteers to help on Sunday mornings in Junior Church and Nursery. Also, she addressed the need to split the Jr Church group in three classes [Pre-K & 1st , 2nd & 3rd, and 4th & 5th]  Brandi encouraged people to pray for the ministry and consider volunteering once a month.

More Frequent Updates from our Missionaries

One of the deacon team initiatives 2018 is to present bi-monthly updates of our missionaries so that we can hear their stories and cover their families and work in prayer.

Netzer Update

Pastor Tim and Jay McCumber will be traveling next week to El Salvador to equip and to provide ministry support to a few pastors there. This was a request that Janis Watkins of the Abigail Association made to Pastor Tim a few years ago. Netzer is extending support to churches in locations outside US. On March 18, Netzer will be held a worship gathering. More details to come. Prayers were requested for safe trip and for the ministry.

2018 PFC Budget Update

Nancy Elliott-Carter announced that updated copies of the 2018 Budget Proposal were distributed in the church mailboxes. She opened a time of questions for those who would like more detailed information about the proposed budget. No question arose. She encouraged people to complete the survey, so they can be contacted in case they have any questions. Nancy reminded people about the upcoming congregational meeting on Sunday, January 28 right after the morning service for the affirmation of the 2018 church budget.
